Case study

A nonprofit website with personality and heart.

The challenge

Start from scratch. Sound like them. Turn visitors into supporters.

Hungry Hearts had no website. They needed one that captured their fun, big-hearted personality and gave supporters clear, simple ways to help.

What I did

Design, copy and build, from a blank page.

01

Designed and built the site

A bright, colorful WordPress website built from scratch around their logo and their mission.

02

Wrote the copy

Playful, punchy copy for every page, with local SEO keyphrases and meta descriptions targeting Sioux Falls.

03

Made giving easy

Donate buttons in the header and throughout the site, so support is always one click away.

04

Built out events and volunteering

Get Involved pages for fundraisers like the golf tournament, BBQ competition and winter coat drive, plus an invitation to join the crew.

The voice

Copy with attitude

Instead of a typical nonprofit tone, the copy leans into who they are: “Because hungry kids can’t focus. Worried kids can’t dream.” Every headline is short and friendly, and every call to action is an invitation to get involved.
